Zev Farber

1979–

Zev Farber (~1979– ) is a Canadian interdisciplinary artist from Toronto, Ontario. Farber received his BA in music from the University of Toronto and an MFA in Time-Based Media from York University. His work combines visual art and sound installation, as well as photography, sculpture, and video. Farber currently teaches as a Sessional Instructor in the Faculty of Design at OCAD University and administers OCAD University's RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers as its Director.

Farber has actively collaborated with several artists and musicians on notable projects including improv rock band Death of River Phoenix’s Dedicated Blonde EP in 2010, Canadian experimental music group Kaiser Nietzsche’s joint “AudioImage” project in 2010, (led by Canadian sound artist John Kamevaar), and Farber’s solo sound and music project Midfielder, ongoing since 2005. Farber’s work has been exhibited and performed at several Canadian and international venues , such as the Varley Art Gallery, Markham; the Red Head Gallery, Toronto; InterAccess Electronic Media Arts Centre, Toronto; Flux Factory, New York; and the Incheon Biennale in South Korea.
