1968–

Christopher William, also known as Will Gill (1968– ), is a Canadian artist known for his diverse artistic expressions encompassing sculpture, painting, photography, video, and installation art. Born in Ottawa, Gill relocated to Sackville, New Brunswick, in 1987 to commence his formal artistic education, pursuing a BFA at Mount Allison University with a particular emphasis on sculpture. Following his graduation, he resided in Halifax for a few years. Since completing his studies, Gill has cultivated a studio practice that has expanded beyond pure sculptural exploration, now encompassing sculpture, painting, photography, and video endeavors.

Gill has an extensive exhibition history, displaying his works in artist-run centers, commercial galleries, and public galleries/museums domestically and internationally. His artistic contributions have garnered significant attention, resulting in critical writings in magazines, newspaper articles, and coverage on radio and television. Peer juries have consistently recognized and supported Gill's work, granting him funds from the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts.

In March 2013, Gill was chosen from a group of 31 artists to create an indoor public art installation in the lobby of a recently constructed office building in St. John's. The installation opened in the spring of 2014 and marked the first private juried art commission in the province awarded to a local artist, a significant milestone. Furthermore, from June to November 2013, Gill participated in an official Collateral Project at the 2013 Venice Biennale, exhibiting alongside artist Peter Wilkins. Gill's remarkable artistic accomplishments earned him recognition, as he was longlisted for the Sobey Art Award in 2004, 2006, and 2023.
