Sara Vipond
Sara Vipond is an art educator and interdisciplinary visual artist working across print media, sculpture, installation, and drawing. Her practice is based on concepts and research that facilitate a creative inquiry into the internal landscapes of the body, intimacies of respiration, and the cultural structures of searching and longing. For example, Vipond’s respiration series combines found images into drawings that create visual metaphors of the processes and sensorial impacts of breathing, breath, and voice.
Vipond obtained a BA from the University of Toronto, a Studio Diploma from Sheridan College, and in 2005, an MFA from York University. She has taught both studio and academic courses at York University, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and North Island College School of Art and Design.
