Ronald Boaks
Born in Newmarket, Ontario, Ronald Boaks is a Canadian painter and photographer. He is best known for his bold expressive abstractions that celebrate colours on surfaces, as they define his ongoing search for balance, beauty, desire, and humour.
Boaks received his diploma in creative art at Sheridan College in 1975. In 2015, he moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake, where he opened his gallery, Ronald Boaks Collectibles. He works in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, still life photographs, prints, collages, ceramics, and collage.
Since he participated in the major survey exhibition "Forum 76" at the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, he has been exhibited throughout Canada and the United States for the past thirty years, including the Art Gallery of Hamilton, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and Lonsdale Gallery. His work is included in various private and public collections, such as the Bank of Montréal, Museum London, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, and Four Seasons Hotel (London, England).
