Quvianatuliak Parr
Quvianatuliak Parr (1930–1988) was an Inuit graphic artist and sculptor from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut. Born into a family of artists, Quvianatuliak was the son of well-known graphic artists Parr and Eleeshushe. His siblings Eqaluk Parr, Nuna Parr, and Pauloosie Tooloogak are carvers, and his brother Oqsuralik Ottokie is a printmaker.
Quvianatuliak’s drawings, prints, and sculptures have been exhibited in Canada and the United States, including in Grasp Tight the Old Ways: Selections from the Klamer Family Collection of Inuit Art, a touring exhibition on view from 1983 to 1985 organized by the Art Gallery of Ontario. His work is held in a number of private and public collections, including Beaverbrook Art Gallery, Fredericton, the Canadian Museum of History, Gatineau, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, the Musée des beaux-arts de Montreal, the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and the Toronto Dominion Bank Collection, among others.
