Makusi Pangutu Anauta

1939–

Makusi Pangutu Anauta (1939– ) is an Inuit sculptor born on Qikirtajuaq (Smith Island) near Akulivik, Nunavik, Quebec. His carvings depict hunting scenes and often include seals and geese.

Makusi’s carvings have been featured in exhibitions in Canada, the United States, and Italy, such as Keeping our Stories Alive: An Exhibition of the Art and Crafts from Dene and Inuit of Canada on view in 1995 at the Institute of American Indian Arts Museum, Santa Fe. His work is also held in the permanent collections at many institutions, including the Canadian Museum of History, Gatineau, the Avataq Cultural Institute, Montreal, the Glenbow Museum, Calgary, and the Winnipeg Art Gallery, among others.
