Johnny Angutigulu Nuvalinga

Johnny Angutigulu Nuvalinga (1908–1978), also known as Johnny Novalinga or Johnny POV, was an Inuit sculptor and graphic artist from Puvirnituq, Nunavik, Quebec. The majority of his prints were made using stencils or stonecuts. Beyond carving and printmaking, Johnny also worked as a guide, directing boats into the shores of Puvirnituq.
His work has been exhibited across Canada, and his prints were included in the Povungnituk Annual Print Collection in 1978 and between 1980 and 1983. His prints and sculptures can also be found in the permanent collection at the Canadian Museum of History, Gatineau, the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, the British Museum, London, the Detroit Institute of Art, and the Winnipeg Art Gallery, among others.
