Ionko Stoyanov
Ionko Stoyanov is an artist and art educator who is interested in the synthesis of science and art. Stoyanov’s practice is concerned with conveying the impact of geological conditions on human creativity through the medium of painting.
He is the founder of Geologic Pulse, a scientific and artistic project that seeks to connect art museums and universities around the world through an exploration of the relationship between geology and art.
Stoyanov has a master’s degree from the National Academy of Arts in Bulgaria. He has worked as a lecturer and art educator at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia, Bulgaria, York University in Toronto, Santa Monica College, and Claremont First Street Gallery at Claremont University. His work is held in public and private collections in Canada, the United States, Bulgaria, France, Greece, and Japan. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles and Toronto.
