Ed Bartram

1938–2019

Ed Bartram (1938–2019) was a painter and printmaker from London, Ontario, who lived and worked in King City, Bartram Island, and Toronto, all in Ontario. Bartram developed his art practice in the mid-1960s and was best known for his etchings and paintings of the unique rocks of Georgian Bay.

Bartram completed a Bachelor of Arts at Western University and a Master of Arts in Art and Archaeology at the University of Toronto. He taught art at Lawrence Park Collegiate and, later, the art diploma course at Central Technical School. He was particularly known for the eighteen years he spent teaching printmaking at the Ontario College of Art & Design.

Bartram's work has been exhibited extensively. His work can also be found in public, corporate, and private collections in North America, Europe, and Asia.
