Doug Buis
Doug Buis is a Kamloops-based artist born in London, Ontario. He is an Associate Professor in the visual arts department at Thompson Rivers University, British Columbia. Buis’ work investigates the perceptions of the landscape and the surrounding environment through sculpture, video, kinetic art, installation, time-based media, photography and virtual reality.
Buis earned his BFA from the University of Victoria and MFA from York University in Toronto. As a professor, Buis teaches Sculpture, 3-D media, Time-based media and also has taught video, digital media, drawing and subjects. Buis has exhibited across Canada, in a number of cities in the US, several times in Holland, Belgium and Korea. He has also curated several exhibitions.
