Carl Tacon

Carl Taçon is a Canadian sculptor. He currently lives and works in Orton, Ontario.

Taçon received an MFA from York University in 1996; and a BFA from York University in 1988.

Taçon’s art practice is focused primarily on sculpture. He is interested in heavy materials found in familiar surroundings, such as granite and stones. He has exhibited in gallery space and worked with public art commissions, which include a one hundred- and thirty-six-foot carved marble wall at One St. Thomas (near Bloor and Bay) in Toronto; a carved twelve by twenty-two-foot marble wall for the Edmonton Police Service; a two hundred eighty-foot limestone frieze and nineteen cast-bronze sconces made for INDX condominium in the Queen Bay area of Toronto.
