Originally from Croatia, Branko Rukavina (1930–2019) immigrated to Montréal in 1968. Originally a doctor, he returned to his childhood passion in the mid 1960s. His first exhibition was in 1966 in Heidelberg, Germany. He has also participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Canada, and several solo exhibitions in Morocco, Croatia, and France.
