Barbara Dunphy

Barbara Dunphy is a Los Angeles-based artist, film and television production designer and teacher. Dunphy got her BA in Art History from California State University and a studio arts degree from the Ontario College of Art and Design University. She developed as a production designer, established a film co-operative, then editing and operating news cameras for CITY-TV, and onto directing short documentaries.

Throughout her career, Dunphy have received recognition for her work in notable films, including A New Life (1988), Man Without a Face (1993), Dick (1999), and Reindeer Games (2000). She has traveled to various countries, such as Jamaica, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Israel, Mexico, Canada, and England, to work on different projects. Her portfolio includes shows for HBO and ABC. Alongside her successful career, she has been teaching production design for ten years at the Los Angeles Film School and Santa Monica College.
