Alison Judd
Alison Judd is a contemporary Canadian print artist. She primarily works with themes of language, sculpture, and printmaking, exploring where the three media collide. She creates work that deals with ideas of knowledge accumulation, ephemerality, and loss through explorations of geological phenomena.
Judd holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking from Concordia University in Montreal, an interdisciplinary diploma from the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Print Media from York University. Judd has been exhibiting her work since 2006 in both solo and group exhibitions. Her solo shows have primarily been held in Canada, but the works included in group shows have been showcased internationally. Judd has also received numerous awards, grants, and residencies for her work. The residencies have taken place internationally, with some occurring in Canada, while others have occurred in Switzerland, Cuba, and Germany. She currently works as an assistant professor in Printmaking at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto.
