Michael Amar (1948– ) is an artist and arts instructor working in drawing, painting, and sculpture. He worked as an art teacher at Central Technical School in Toronto from 1989 to 2008 and is currently an arts instructor at Loyalist College in Belleville.

Amar’s work has been exhibited in public and private galleries across Ontario. Amar has participated in many members' exhibitions at Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre in Kingston, and in 1980, a solo exhibition titled Sculpture and Drawings by Michael Amar was exhibited at Mercer Union in Toronto. He has been the recipient of grants from the Ontario Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts, and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, New York. His work is held in a number of private and public collections.
