Martha Ulliyak Milortok

1944–

Martha Ulliyak Milortok (1944­– ) is a sculptor from Nunavut who has lived in both Kangiqliniq (Rankin Inlet) and Naujaat (Repulse Bay). Martha’s carvings are focused on subjects of motherhood, family life, and animals. She comes from a family of artists. Her mother, Madeline Isserkut Kringanyak, was a well-known sculptor and jewelry artist. Her father, Nicholas Kringayark, her husband, Donat Milortok, and her sister Simona Kringayark are all carvers.

Martha’s work can be found in the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, and the Winnipeg Art Gallery, among others.
