Joe Szilva (1950– ) is a multidisciplinary artist born in Budapest, Hungary, who is known for his photography, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.
Building on his background in sculpture, Szilva began developing surface backgrounds in the 1990s for his wife, stylist Mokus Barcza. This project then developed into Surface Studio, a handmade surface and set piece rental company. In addition to his fine art photography, Szilva also does commercial photography. He currently works out a studio space in Manhattan, New York.
His work is help in public, private, and corporate collections internationally, including the Art Gallery of Windsor and the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, among others.
