Francis LeBouthillier

1964–

Francis LeBouthillier (1964?– ) is an artist, designer, and researcher based in Toronto. Chair of Sculpture/Installation at OCAD, LeBouthillier creates interactive installations exploring gender, power, and the environment. He has also built biological models for research hospitals. He has participated in numerous research projects with Mount Sinai Hospital and The University of Toronto Surgical Skills Centre and designed training devices for invasive prenatal surgeries. He also contributed to designing interactive gaming and telecommunications prototypes.

LeBouthillier, skilled in the field of medical training and development, obtained his AOCA diploma from the Ontario College of Art & Design in 1986. Later on, he went on to pursue his MFA at York University in 1993, further honing his skills in the field of the performance and installation arts as well as the medical training field. With his expertise, he progressed from creating surgical training fetuses at the University of Toronto to developing intricate life-saving operation models that have helped numerous doctors worldwide in their practice, highlighting his invaluable contributions to the medical field.

LeBouthillier's installations have been exhibited in galleries across Canada, London, Denmark, France, and the United States since 1986.
