Woven, a wall-mounted scultpure with hidden support pins, was one of several works shown at the Sable-Castelli Gallery, Toronto, in September 2004. Wall Works from 2004 continued the exploration of cultural sign systems with an emphasis on complex patterning and illusionary images cut from flat plates of aluminum or steel.

By using the wall—the traditional realm of illusion—for the presentation of sculpture, Schwarz establishes a tension between sculpture as physical presence (object) and as cultural projection (image). The sense of illusion, or shallow perspective, is evident in the artwork Woven even though the image is cut from a flat sheet of steel. This work is unique in that the artist used a dark brown patina (powder coat) to give it more weight.
